The One Church - One Child initiative aims to engage local churches in providing both spiritual and practical support to children who are without parental care, through prayer, mentorship, and assistance with family placement.
The One Church - One Child Program is a unique initiative by the Alliance for Ukraine Without Orphans, combining spiritual values with support for children left without parental care. Its mission is to engage local churches in caring for specific children in need of a family - through prayer, mentoring, and practical assistance.
Launched and piloted by the Alliance in cooperation with the Kyiv City Child Center in 2013, this initiative primarily focuses on the most vulnerable groups: teenagers, children with disabilities, and those from large sibling groups. The program helps a church community concentrate on the real needs of an individual child, supporting them spiritually and practically, and assisting in the search for a mentor or placement in a new family.
The One Church - One Child initiative is implemented in cooperation with qualified civil society organizations and relevant government agencies. Every local church that joins receives necessary guidance, informational resources and other support to help launch and grow the program.
